Dear SHARE Region,
As you begin to enter lecturer appointment requests on the Smartsheet, we wanted to clarify the entry process regarding steps/points and salaries.
Since the salaries listed on the appointment letters are inclusive of the range adjustment, SHARE would like for departments to enter whatever is on the appointment letters onto the Smartsheet. We are uncertain of when the new IX salary scales for 2023-2024 will come out, but in the meantime:

We are pleased to announce this year’s Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Award Program for staff covered by Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM) and for clerical staff covered by the CX bargaining unit. The STAR Award program this year includes the SPOT Award (up to a maximum of $500):
The SPOT Award (up to a maximum of $500 per award, but may be lower than $500) is designed to recognize a significant and outstanding contribution(s) on a particular effort above and beyond position duties.
Dear SHARE Region,
Summer sessions hiring continues to begin earlier year over year. In order to reduce unnecessary onboarding we will be placing ASE/GSRs on short work breaks (SWB) over the summer like we have done over the past three years. The units that will be exempt from this will be Space Sciences Laboratory, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

For your eligible faculty with available funding that can be used for summer ninths compensation (such as endowed chair funds, start-up funds, etc.), I am writing today to let you know that Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) will begin collecting the information this month to set up summer salary payments.
APO announced this news to the campus in an email on 2/21/23.

We have recently made some changes to our organizational structure and we have promoted Ana Chavez to Operations Supervisor. As a result, we have been working diligently at finding her replacement and have promoted Nicole Villagran-Tartari to HR Partner.
