April is here!

April 8, 2019

Dear Listserv Subscribers,

It’s April! Last week was April 1st, so we did not send out an email, since no-one would have taken it seriously. But here we are again! A few important points from us at SHARE:

  1. We bid a heartfelt farewell to our fabulous RA supervisor Jue Sun who moved home to UC Merced where she is now the Director of their Sponsored Projects Office. We are grateful for the many years of exceptional service and will miss her. There were lots of tears and cheers for Jue last week. A recruitment is underway for her replacement as RA Supervisor.
  2. If you are curious who has a designated RA in SHARE, see the new link under "Find Your RA" on our RA website to look up PI-RA assignments by Department or PI.
  3. UCPath is live! For all the important high-level info, see the message here. There are also new links on our HR website that will take you to UCPath, to the new Payroll deadlines, and more.
  4. There have been a few hiccups with the first run of payroll in UCPath but far fewer than we expected. We are looking into all questions immediately and escalating any pay issues as quickly as possible. Overall, there have been only a few. So far, so good, but please let us know immediately if anyone reports a pay issue and we will be happy to help resolve it.
  5. Payroll transactions now post to the general ledger (BFS) the very next day, rather than only once per month. The first things to hit the ledger also include a few issues the Controller's office will reverse within a month or two. Along with that, there are differences in the accounts and the information that get posted to the ledger from what you are used to. Please hold tight. We will share helpful information for you to better understand these changes (and know whether something strange is really a problem to report or not) after we make it through the first month on UCPath.
  6. Please remind faculty, staff and students in your units NOT to contact the UCPath Center if they have any issues or questions. Stay local for the fastest response and resolution. Here are the best options:

And finally, don't forget to join us for coffee and cookies next Friday, April 12th from 2-3:30 in Durant 14.
