I am reaching out to provide you some timely and important HR information:
STAFFING UPDATES:
We have successfully backfilled our HR Generalist positions in SHARE and we wanted to introduce our new staff. Please join us in welcoming Katherine Ju, Marcela Cardona and James Seto.
Please refer to our SHARE website page to see the departments they will be supporting and their contact information. These changes go into effect on Monday August 15th.
VISA UPDATES FOR SCHOLARS AND POSTDOCS:
In addition to this we also want to provide you an update on J-1 visas:
If you have any J-1 Scholars such as Visiting Scholars, Visiting Student Researchers, Postdocs or Lecturers with a January or February 2023 start date, SHARE Region needs to receive these requests via ServiceHub as soon as possible, but no later than September 9, 2022. Berkeley International Office has alerted us that any J-1 visas with a January of February 2023 start date need to be submitted to them by 10/3/2022. Please note that anything submitted to the SHARE Region after September 9, 2022 may require additional payment for expedite processing or the start date may need to be adjusted. ASE/GSR UPDATES:
Our MO deadline is quickly approaching next week (8/19) and we have limited time to process any extensions, hires or reappointments in UCPath. If your HR Generalist has asked you to update your position numbers and you have not already done so and replied via the smartsheet, please do so as soon as possible. We cannot process any ASE/GSR appointments in UCPath without this information and failure to provide it will delay pay and access.
Also, if you have any late additions get them on the smartsheet as soon as possible. We will do our best to process them.
LECTURER UPDATES:
As we approach the start of the Fall Semester, we wanted to remind you to please enter all lecturer appointments onto the Smartsheet as soon as possible. The Fall semester begins on Wednesday, August 17th. If lecturers do not onboard by Wednesday, they are subject to teaching day basis calculations.
If a lecturer needs a teaching day basis calculation, please reach out to the Dean’s Office for a revised appointment letter.
