Staffing update from SHARE

June 16, 2021

Dear SHARE Region,

I hope you are all enjoying summer and staying cool. I am reaching out to provide you with an update on some of our most recent staffing changes. One of our contract HR Generalists on our team recently accepted a career position with the BEST region. We are sad to see him leave, but happy for our friends at BEST. We have asked for approval to recruit for a position in SHARE.

Until then, I want to remind you that our HR Generalists are also processing summer sessions, summer salary and will be absorbing the remaining allocations. We ask that you please be patient with us during this transition period as you may see slower turnaround times and “urgent” issues may take longer than normal to resolve.

Please view our SHARE HR website to see your new HR Generalist. The effective date of the transition is June 21st. Your new HR Generalist will reach out to you after June 16th to introduce themselves.

We kindly ask for your support and cooperation in the following areas:

  • Place and approve any Fall ASE/GSR hires on the smartsheet as soon as you know you want to hire them. Don’t wait until later, as this will mean longer delays.

  • Audit and correct any vacant position numbers before putting them on the smartsheet.

  • Give us at least 10 business days lead time for any student assistant you are requesting to hire.

  • Emphasize the importance of completing onboarding to your new hires. They are many times more responsive to your direction.

  • Submit complete SN cases for Visiting Scholars, and be sure to include the VS/VSR request form, IOF for J-1 visa and J-1 Faculty agreement form. Visit our visiting appointments page for lead times.

  • If you know that you are hiring an employee from another UC under a Multi-Location Appointment (MLA), please be sure that the form is completely filled out to avoid further delays.

Sincerely,

Ana Sanchez
