Dear SHARE:

The weather is amazing and it is starting to feel a little bit like summer. This is a good time to plant some tomatoes in your yard or in a pot on a balcony. Now on to news that actually matter.

Vacation Week (Reduced Services)
A final reminder that many of our staff will be on vacation starting tomorrow, Friday May 28th, through the week following Memorial Day, so please expect reduced services and longer response times.

SHARE Remaining Remote in 2021 (and most likely beyond)
As everyone begins to plan their return for fall, we wanted to remind you that SHARE will remain fully remote through this calendar year and likely beyond, for many individuals. We will be using the soon-to-be-released campus remote work toolkit to update our staff telecommuting agreements to reflect continued remote work through January 1, 2022.

Expectations of availability, response time, use of video during meetings, etc. were varied and highly flexible during the pandemic to accommodate individuals with children at home, stress related to COVID-19, and other tricky scenarios. As we move into a "new normal" with schools reopening, expectations will return to defined levels that are expected for successful job performance. These will be documented in the new telecommute agreements signed by each employee and Supervisor. I will share high-level expectations that may be of interest to you after these have been completed.

We will use the first few months of fall to gage how remote work in the hybrid environment is going and adjust these expectations before we establish ongoing telecommuting agreements to be used beyond January 2022. 

We welcome your feedback throughout the fall on how things are going to help inform our future remote work policies and strategies.
