SHARE Region HR Updates for March 2022

March 24, 2022

Dear SHARE Region,

We are reaching out to notify you of some delays you may have noticed around the release of smartsheets and other important HR updates.

ASE/GSR smartsheets:

  • BRS will release the new ASE/GSR smartsheets in two weeks. We are waiting for UCPath to make some changes to their Job code tables before we release the new smartsheets that will have these changes incorporated. These changes stemmed from the great feedback we received from GSAOs and will benefit our campus as they will make our new title codes and steps more user friendly.

  • Please do not add any Summer or Fall ASE/GSR appointment until the new smartsheets are released. We are trying to limit the transfer of initiated rows to the new smartsheet, as this may create longer delays. If you need an exceptional request, please reach out to your HR Generalist.

Lecturer smartsheets:

  • Due to the newly ratified lecturer contract, we are waiting on a toolkit that UCOP and UCPath are developing. This will provide us more guidance on how new Lecturer appointments should be structured in UCPath and any subsequent changes that may be needed in the smartsheets.

  • Please do not add any Fall appointments to the lecturer smartsheets. We have given departments view access to the existing Lecturer smartsheets to prevent Fall appointments from being entered. If you have a late Spring 2022 appointment, please submit a ServiceHub case.

EPSL corrections:

As many of you know, EPSL was granted retroactive to January 1, 2022 to eligible employees. Please see the memo that went to campus. If you have employees that would have been eligible and used vacation, sick or unpaid time off, that would like to now use EPSL, please take the following steps to request corrections:

Submit a Service Hub case with the 2022 Emergency Paid Sick Leave Notice and Request formattached and also include a BW timesheet or MO timesheet with the dates and hours for which the employee wishes to use EPSL.

Retirements for 2022:

For those employees in the 1976 tier  who want to elect a July 1 retirement date, their last day of work needs to be June 29, 2022 in order to be eligible for the COLA.

Thank you,

Ana Sanchez
