Dear SHARE:
We hope you are faring well this summer and have enjoyed the monthly newsletter from our HR teams. This message is mainly to let you know that SHARE is participating in the “Curtailment Fridays” you likely heard about last week: July 24, July 31, August 7 and August 14.
We ask that you refrain from contacting staff until the following Monday when possible. We are making arrangements for some staff to take alternate days if they have critical deadlines to meet, including processing fall hiring requests and meeting proposal deadlines. This is our busiest time of the year, so we are making every effort to balance the workload and the demands on our high performing staff so they are able to sustain their excellence.
Human Resources
UCPC is experiencing major delays this summer with processing our hire requests. We are experiencing 7-10 day wait times, sometimes much longer, to have our requests approved. We are following up consistently and doing everything we can to get your requests processed in time. Please understand these UCPC delays are beyond our control.
Research Administration
We have a high volume of proposal requests at this time, so many RAs are taking on extra proposal assignments. In some cases, we need to make PI to RA reassignments to balance the workload.
Purchasing & Reimbursements
There is a new requirement for your Vendors to do the Daily Health Screening if they are coming to campus. Information will be coming from Supply Chain Management about this requirement, so please be on the lookout for their email.
Due to the pandemic, checks for approved vouchers are currently run ONLY on Wednesdays. We have added this note to the bottom section of our Purchasing website under “Typical Processing Times.”
We want to remind you that Amazon is now a catalog vendor!
HR ServiceNow 2.0
This huge project (being led by Teal) to rebuild HR ServiceNow is deep into the development and testing phase, with go live planned for next Spring (hopefully Feb/March timeframe). For updates, please visit the Project Website
