Dear SHARE Region,
I am following up on the last email where I outlined the details you need to know for the Summer/Fall ASE/GSR and Lecturer Hires actions. While our BRS HR teams are working to create your new Lecturer Smartsheets, I wanted to provide you with the target deadlines and other details to help in your preparation for 7/1/21 and 8/1/21 Lecturer Appointments.
Actions to take:

Review the Lecturer Hiring and Onboarding Timeline for Summer/Fall ‘21 for all the details and deadlines.

Begin collecting new / reappointment Lecturer requests.

Once the new Lecturer Smartsheets are available in mid April, begin entering those request(s).For now, pleasecontinue to hold Lecturer requests until the new sheets are ready
Reminders for all Lecturer hires/rehires:

They must not start work until they have attended their video appointment (specifically to complete the I-9 work authorization documentation and State Oath, which is required before the first day of instruction)

Those who need to do so, must complete the DocuSign packet (which now includes the State Oath) by the first day of the semester at the latest in order to avoid potential damage payments (which cannot be paid with Federal funds). These appointments may also need teaching day basis recalculations.
Benefit Updates for Lecturers:
To minimize any impacts to Lecturers, we need reappointments to be entered into UCPath well in advance of their appointment ending date in order for Benefits bridge to not negatively impact the employee’s premium payments. We also need all new Lecturer appointments to be entered into UCPath and live prior to the first day of their appointment at the latest in order to trigger timely Benefit notifications from UCPath.

We anticipate the new Lecturer Smartsheets will be available in mid-April and I will follow up with you to let you know when you can begin entering those appointments for Summer/Fall ‘21.
