Reminder: Fall 2026 ASE/GSR Hiring Deadlines

Dear Campus Colleagues,

We are writing to remind departments of the Fall 2026 ASE/GSR hiring deadlines below:

ASE/GSR Deadlines for Fall 2026

  • 7/10/2026: Complete all Fall 2026 ASE/GSR Smartsheet entries and approvals.

  • 8/1/2026: GSIs must complete DocuSigns. GSRs must complete all onboarding items before they start work to retain their start date.

  • 8/19/2026: First day of semester. Ensure onboarding is complete before any work begins to avoid damage payments.

  • 8/28/2026: Last day for onboarding grace period. Late hire GSIs after this date require RFA calculations for pay.

  • GSR Lead Time: Requests should be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to start dates due to union contract requirements

As a reminder, we have new dynamic view pages that can be used to view hiring status for requested rows. Use these updated views to track hiring requests with real-time information and relevant details available to supervisors, employees, and GSAOs at any time. This enhancement supplements the current hiring Smartsheet and reduces the need for manual status updates or separate email follow-up:

    1. GSAOs listed on Smartsheet can see a consolidated view for rows where they are listed as the GSAO.
